Project Tiger Offline Edit-a-thon 2018, Bangalore
It was 23rd May, I got a call from Gopala, a member of CIS-A2K team Bangalore about an edit-a-thon on 27th, Sunday. And after that, when I opened my WhatsApp, I got the message from Anant, another member from the CIS-A2K team to sign up for the edit-a-thon. After that, I just opened the page and entered the 4 tildes (~) to sign up. The edit-a-thon was at the CIS-A2K Bangalore office from 10am to 4pm.

So, I tried my best to reach on time, but as usual, I took the bus from Marathahalli Bridge around 10 am and reached there at 10.30 since Sunday has less traffic during the morning. And when I reached there, some are there in downstairs. Thankfully the introduction round started after I reached there and Tito da explained a little about the Project Tiger and the rules, article list, etc. But I have those ideas since I'm writing from March and this Chromebook was given for the project. And we started writing from the given topics.

We are from different communities like Telugu, Malayalam, Sanskrit, Bengali, Odia, English, Kannada, etc. Dr. Manavpreet Kaur, from the Panjabi community, also joined online (I got to know in the evening when she replied to me for the status I put on WhatsApp). I just wrote the unfinished articles which I had started on the previous night. And during the editing process, we took a small tea/coffee break. As usual, I prefer tea.

Then we again busy with the writings and I have finished those three articles about R. Madhavan, Imran Khan, and Dookudu movie from the list. Around 12.50 pm, we went out for lunch and had our lunch at an Andhra style hotel which is near to the office. Again, I forgot the name of the hotel. I just forgot my camera on that table, so I could capture those moments. But there, the love for Aloo (Potato) was there. Yes, we would definitely save Aloo rather than the world.

After lunch, again we started editing. in that next half, I just created one article which is about Preity Zinta. And a piece of good news we got at that time is, Tamil and Panjabi community crossed 1000 articles for the Project Tiger. After that, we had finished the edit-a-thon with 20+ new articles and prepared to return. But before return, I just finished the article of the day for the 5th Round of 100wikidays or the 319th day of my 1WikiYear, since the IPL final was in the evening.

Finally, at 4.45 pm  I just returned back to my room by an Auto. Thanks to Tanveer da for booking that auto for me, since I don't have an ola/uber app on my phone.

Memory of My Life- 9: Last Party in Bhawanipatna

Memory of My Life- 9: Last Party in Bhawanipatna
After finishing our exam, we had the Major project submission work on 23, 24 & 25 May in 2016. After that, we had to leave that palce, where we met each other 4 years before. Previously, I have shared about the thing that, we came closure to leave everyone. But that wasn't the actual tension in that time, the Major project was the main tension.

On the 1st day of submission, we hadn't (especially my group) prepared for those. So, only one group had submitted their project work, that's why teachers scrold us badly. But it's ok, the teachers gave the actual advice to us. Somehow, everybody had managed to prepare for the next day and within those 2 days, we had finished the whole submission.

After finishing the submission, we went college on 26th May, that is the next. Again we met each and every person, some returned the books issued from the library and did lots of sad feeling fun there. Then before leaving college, we had decided to arrange the last party in Bhawanipatna in that night at our old party point Ding Dong restaurant at Manikeswari Chhaka.

Previously, we had to invite each and every for the party, but that day approximately all had come for the party. Some friends couldn't come, because they had no idea about the party. And who heard about the party came to enjoy there.

Everyone had come with the good mood and all had decided not to cry at the time of leaving at least on that day only. But, that was not possible during that time. In the evening everyone reached at the hotel. Someone had arranged some vodka and mixed it with water and the situation of the whole group had changed suddenly. Everybody had danced a lot, but we clicked a few photos only. We had our dinner there together and when the time came to leave for the room, again all started crying and with the punch of alcohol, the situation became pathetic.

Somehow controlled everyone and on the road, the "Kal Ho Na Ho" film situation happened. But, all had reached safely in their room. The last party ended with lots of memories. After the party in the hotel, the main party for the boys started some other place.

And 2 years passed from that day, but we are missing that party. Yes, we met with some, we had partied with some, but that night would remain a memorable one for all of us.

Memory of My Life- 8: Photoshoot for Quasar 2k16

Sangram Keshari Senapati May 17, 2018 0
Memory of My Life- 8: Photoshoot for Quasar 2k16
In 2016, when I reached college after the 7th Semester break, in February, the notification for the Annual magazine Quasar had been out until that time. Somehow I managed to get into the team and when we met the Principal, Dr. Dulu Pattnaik sir, I shared the idea of the e-magazine. Then they agreed for that and decided to do everything in college with more students. But, some students had contacted the press for the printing copy. So, I advised there to do both, but principal decide to stick with the new plan for e-magazine. That's why some friends got angry on me. Trust me, I wasn't against their plan or something like that. I wished to read the next issue when I left the college. If the e-magazine idea would work, then alumni could get a copy easily.

But, the paper pack idea got canceled, since last year lots of magazines couldn't be delivered to students and everything wasted. Ok, leave that. Finally, we proceed for the e-magazine work. In the meeting, teachers decided to provide a teacher co-ordinator to guide us. Abhijit Sir, a new teacher appointed for physics teacher with contract basis. He had just finished his M. Sc. from IIT, Roorkee in that January. He joined us along with some 1st-year students. Roshni, a friend of us from Electrical branch co-ordinated the whole work. She was there for any kind of problem, discussion with teachers. Bismay, a student from 1st-year but two of his poetries had published in an International book. So, we couldn't think about the English editor except him. Juned, a student from 2nd year also had a good knowledge of English, Hindi, and Odia literature. So, he became the editor for the Hindi session. Prasant, a student from 1st-year joined to design the cover photo which is the important attraction of any magazine. He was also like my brother since he read in the same college where I was reading my +2. And I forgot to mention about my work there, obviously, I was the editor for the Odia section.

We started working on it and after the classes, I have to stay there up to the evening and had to look after others, since I was the only person from 4th Year at that time. Roshni had tried to take part in different works, but somehow she managed to be there as far as possible. In that 1 month of work, we had worked together, did lots of fun, had a good conversation and bonding with others, in which I was always poor. Finally, we had finished the work of magazine and released in the 1st day of our annual function. A bad thing happened during the release time, but thanks to Roshni, she managed that very well. Yes, that day, I learned something new from her. Keep calm during the problem and you have to handle the bad situation and learn to take the responsibility.

But we had to distribute the magazine among students and as per the rule, we had to put some photos of us, our branches etc in the magazine. So, on 17th May 2016, we kept the photo session for our coordinators, volunteers, editors, teacher. But Abhijit Sir missed from the main photo.

We had our last exam of 8th Semester on 18th May, so everyone was in hurry. After the photo shoot, everyone disappeared from the college, but I did some more photo shoot with teachers, friends, on the roof, inside the Communication lab. And here are some snaps below.

Memory of My Life- 7: CSE style Photo Shoot

Memory of My Life- 7: CSE style Photo Shoot
2 years back, on 4th May 2018, we had our last days in college, so we planned a group photo shoot in a new style. Yes, that was the new style for us, not for others. We had an exam that day, and after the exam, we planned for the photo shoot with the CSE symbol.

Almost all CSE friends were present on that day and I was the photographer. So, I was missing in the best photo. We arranged all of then in three C, S & E on the ground in front of the college. I took the photo from the roof.

This is the best photo on that day taken by me from the roof.
After that, I went down and someone else took the photo, but those photos weren't that much of interesting. Yes, we took a number of photos that day including these clicks.

Yes, I was there, but all were busy in their own poses.
After these photo session, we took the college bus and there I recorded all a short video of all our CSE friends, but unfortunately, the camera fell down and the battery came out before we save that video. So, we lost that video. That was a nice clip, but that was not for us. I was happy for this group photo but really unhappy with the video. That day, I planned to record another video before we leave, but couldn't get a chance to record like that.

The Story behind the New Name: Nabapallaba to Shubhapallaba

Sangram Keshari Senapati April 27, 2018 0
The Story behind the New Name: Nabapallaba to Shubhapallaba
In this world everything is changeable. Yes, Science says, "Energy changes from one form to another." Like that our life, journey, money, etc. change from one form to another form. We live our life happily, but without any trouble how we could live happily. So we hire trouble and enjoy the pain. But here that thing I hired was not actually a trouble but some interesting thing which was my dream since 2016.

Yes, that thing was to publish a magazine. It was the time of my last days in engineering in the year of 2016, I was the editor of the college magazine and the unofficial co-ordinator also. Yes, that was my plan to do the e-magazine for the 1st time in the college, so we worked together to make that happen. Yes, we worked around 8-9 hours per day for one and a half month to make the 1st e-magazine beautiful and attractive. All the members associated with the work did an excellent job for the magazine. After that, I left the college and the plan to publish an e-magazine in Odia language was always in my mind. Even there were some e-magazines in Odia, but I didn't have any idea about that. Yes, I didn't have any idea up to October 2017.

So, on 20th December 2017, I have decided to execute my plan which was in my mind from last 2 years. In the meantime, some magazines also rejected my articles. So, I wish to publish an e-magazine in Odia and the main goal of the magazine was to give chance to the new authors. So, it took 10 hard working days to complete the full magazine work and I must thankful to Tapas bhai, without whom I mightn't finish the whole work.

On 1st January 2018, the 1st edition of our Magazine published. Yes, I forgot to mention the name of the magazine. Yes, the name was Nabapallaba, yes that name is past for us. We need to change the name due to some reason. I won't say about that old story, how I named the magazine. But I would say the story of our new name.

Yes, we all are humans and we all have the emotions. We couldn't leave those things with which we are attached, like that how could we leave that name which was my 1st magazine, some writers got chance to publish their 1st articles through this magazine. But we need to move on.

We need to change the name which would look like similar to the previous name. So, we talked with some family members, friends about this. A number of names came to the mind and finally, we got confused in between two names, "Shubhapallaba" and "Naba Srujana".

Shubhapallaba is similar to Nabapallaba, so we decided to stick with that name. Finally, on Akshaya Trutiya, we took the final decision and named it as "Shubhapallaba".

Memory of My Life- 6: Last Marriage in our Family

Sangram Keshari Senapati April 26, 2018 0
Memory of My Life- 6: Last Marriage in our Family
Yhea! It was the last marriage festival of our family, not for all time, but for until today. Yes, I've 3 cousins brothers and they are elder than me. So, they got married before I finish my engineering. The 1st one got married when I was in 7th standard and the 2nd one in 2013.

They didn't invite me to the 2nd one's marriage since my 2nd-semester exams were starting from the next day of his marriage. So, I missed it. That's why they had asked me before fixing the date of the 3rd one. Finally, I was invited to the marriage which was held on 26th April 2016. Yes, 2016 was my last year of Engineering and he had his marriage before my final exams.

That journey from Bhawanipatna to Bhadrak was a memorable one. I was suffering from typhoid in those days, so planned an early comeback to home before the marriage. That night, I took the direct bus from Bhawanipatna to Bhadrak. Yes, just before 15 days, the direct bus from Bhawanipatna to Bhadrak started and this was my 1st journey to Bhadrak directly. Unfortunately, the bus had broken down in the middle of the road, but the driver managed to drive in that condition. Previously our plan was to reach by 7 am but reached on 10 am.

Finally, the marriage date came we were having fun. Yes, that fun was enough I know. I don't have any friends there to make fun. But I could make fun by myself and I know it. That's why I was busy in covering all the moments. I've documented everything on that day. But, couldn't capture the full rituals of Marriage. That's all about the marriage day.

Memory of My Life- 5: Farewell to our Seniors

Sangram Keshari Senapati April 20, 2018 0
Memory of My Life- 5: Farewell to our Seniors
It was 20th April 2015, when we arranged the farewell party for our seniors at Townhall, Bhawanipatna. Previously, those two batches arranged the farewell party inside the college campus, but unfortunately, we couldn't get the permission to conduct it in college. So, we planned it outside the campus.

On 19th April  2013, our seniors (2nd-year students) through a welcome party to us. But I couldn't manage to attend that due to some work at home. But the next day after 2 years, we planned the farewell party for them.

There was a back paper exam on 22nd April so some of our friends couldn't join for the arrangement works. But other friends arranged everything from booking to inviting. I was there in the back-paper group, so I went there around 3 o'clock in the afternoon. But seniors came around 6.30 in the evening. Yes that was the unofficial last day in the college, but the exam was not over till then, so they had around 30 days in the college.

Previously, the farewell was conducted after the exam, but some seniors couldn't come to the party since they had booked their tickets early. That's why we arranged the party earlier. Yes, all the seniors came to the party. So, the plan was successful.

When they arrived we welcome them and they put their palm impression on a board with their signature. Look how beautiful it's appearing. Till now, this board is stored inside our CSE department. When I went to college on 8th January, I got surprised to see this board inside the room. Yes, it's their memory and all their love stored on this board.

No automatic alt text available.

Boys were in the white shirt and black pant, girls were in sarees and all were looking beautiful. It was going to be another memorable day for them, so all were excited when they came to the party.

But the teachers didn't come to the party, so they feel sad for that. We all made fun, they dance, share their love, feelings, stores with others. Some were happy with their new relationships and some felt bad for the heartbroken. After all, we did lots of fun. And my work was to capture every moment on that day. So, when we all see those pictures, we could feel those days, those enjoyments, those small quarrels, those raggings, everything with them.

Image may contain: one or more people and crowd

The stage was there for them, for us to celebrate every moment of that day. This is such a day, which comes only once in life. Yes, you might attend some other farewell parties, but couldn't attend the same party with the same friends again. So we did all those things which we could do to make that day memorable for them, for us.

Image may contain: 6 people, people sitting, crowd and indoor

Image may contain: 11 people, including Bharati Ruby, people smiling, people sitting

Image may contain: 1 person, standing, shoes and indoor

And all the fun suddenly brought a sad among all of them, when the final goodbye time came. But, nobody cried on that day. Since all the same feelings but all tried to entertain others. Yes, some girls cried, but we managed to overcome that part. Finally, the party was over. And as always, we clicked the group photo. In that group photo, we all framed in. On that day, we all are friends. But I was not there in the frame since I was capturing the photo.

Memory of My Life- 4: The photo captured by me Feature as Photo of the Week on Odia Wikipedia

Sangram Keshari Senapati April 12, 2018 0
Memory of My Life- 4: The photo captured by me Feature as Photo of the Week on Odia Wikipedia
In life, small things could give you many reasons for happiness. It was 12th April in 2016, when I got a ping from Sailesh Patnaik that a photo which I had captured was featuring as Photo of Week on Odia Wikipedia. So, I had checked the home page immediately and look at the picture, what I found.

The featured photo was about a person who was playing a musical instrument known as "Kendara" in Odisha. Some years before, a bunch of people came to Odisha and started living in a specific region. Since they were outsiders, they used to beg by playing this instrument and singing a special song which is known as "Gobinda Chandra Tika".

There is a story behind this "Gobinda Chandra Tika" since centuries. There was a prince named Gobinda Chandra, whose mother got to know that her son won't live longer. So, she decided to give him to the God so the God would take care of him. That's why she gave him a "Kendara" and taught him some song to sing and sent him to the Saint Hadippa.

Memory of My Life- 3: Farewell by our Juniors at GCEK

Sangram Keshari Senapati April 10, 2018 0
Memory of My Life- 3: Farewell by our Juniors at GCEK
It is going to complete 2 years since we left the college. Before we left, our juniors threw a farewell party to us on this day in 2016. It was 10 April 2016, and we had our last enjoyment with juniors. The previous year, we arranged the farewell party a long time before for the final exam, so they also arranged the farewell party 1 and a half months before. Before that, our seniors had arranged the farewell party after the exam, but a problem arose there. So, we had planned the farewell party much before the exam and our juniors also do the same.

During our time, we couldn't get the chance to plan the farewell meeting in college, so we conducted outside and our junior also faced the same problem. So, they had arranged the party at Amala Bhavan near to Government bus stand. On the farewell day, most of the students would be shown upset, but we had another 1.5 months there, so none of us felt that. So, we enjoyed that day.

In the evening, we went there are they welcome us with diya and offered us a rose. At the time when I reached, there were a few of our friends and no girls were there until that time. Yes, they need more time for their makeover. So, it's a common thing.

Yhea! that's me. Don't know who had clicked this photo. But my eyes were looking horrible. That rose was in my pocket and it's with me till now. I've fixed it in my diary on the day of 10 April 2016.

After that, we wait for our other friends. Look at that little girl, she came with one of our juniors. In that leisure time, she performed on a Bollywood track, "Khinch Meri Photo" and I just clicked a photo. Finally, the girls had come and two of our teachers, Kamakshya Sir and Ashok sir had come.

They both lighten the diya and gave a formal speech for us. After that, Prateek and Saswati, our class representatives had their small speech. And all were excited about the cake cutting.

After the cake cutting and having some snacks, both of our teachers left that place. But I missed other teachers and Rajendra sir the most. We took some snaps with teachers.

When the teachers left, they had planned for some fun games. And all of us enjoyed those. Some students confess about their crush and secret love stories with us. And some got the change to propose them if they were present there. Even a number of boys had proposed a single girl.

But, we were happy with our photo shoot. We had clicked a number of photos with our friends and juniors. At the time of dinner, I had clicked lots of photos. Even I remembered a click, where some of our girls stood with a model pose, but I couldn't click them and was busy with some other clicks. But made them to hold that pose for few minutes and finally clicked them. Here is that photo.

And did lots of fun with all of them from juniors to seniors. And there was a funny moment with me when I had taken a photo with our lateral entry girls. For the extra height, I made to sit on my feet and Pankajini had put a rose on my head.

Finally, they called me to the stage for a formal speech for our friends and junior. I was there with two of my friends, Swapna and Swagatika. Usually, I used to talk in Odia, but on the stage, some English words came out from me. But all of them demanded the Odia speech. So, I tried my best to speak in pure Odia. It's difficult to speak in pure Odia since some of our words are mixed with other languages.

Before leaving that hall, we had clicked the group photo. Some of our friends had left to their room, but we didn't have any barriers. On that day, we did many crazy things and as usual, I couldn't dance on the floor. But I enjoyed their dance and clicked lots of photos. The farewell day is the most memorable day in the life. It's like an unofficial transfer certificate.

Memory of My Life- 2: 8 Years Back, went to VCSC for Demo Classes

Sangram Keshari Senapati April 08, 2018 0
Memory of My Life- 2: 8 Years Back, went to VCSC for Demo Classes

8 years back on this day, I had started reading in a college. Actually, that is known as School outside Odisha, but in Odisha, we are considering it as college after 10th. So, after my 10th exam, my parents and some of my teachers planned to send me a residential college, Vinayak College of Science and Commerce to for the demo classes. After the 10th exam, at those days, we got at least 3 months, so within those 3 months, some residential colleges planned for the demo classes, so the students could get in touch with studies as well as know some about their next studies.

So, I went to the hostel on 7th April 2010 and from 8th April 2010, we had our classes. Previously, I hadn't stayed outside my home except our relative's house, but that time, I had to leave the home and stay with new friends. So, I was excited at that time and in those days, I was totally different from nowadays. So, when they asked me for the classes, I just asked them, "are they going to teach me about computers?" Because, until that day, I didn't have a single knowledge about computer and perhaps didn't see a computer from very close. So, I had planned before finishing the exam, to join a computer academy and must learn some about the computer. When my father said me that, they are going to teach us some basics of computers, I was in the 9th cloud and immediately put a yes for that.

So, everything had prepared as per the plan and that was my 1st time outside the home. That's why everyone had advised me about the hostel, college, class, etc. So, on the 7th April, me with my father and with a teacher arrived there to the college. When I reached there, it was the evening snacks time and after snacks, we had an evening prayer. After that, I went to my room. It was a 7 sharing room, where I got another 5 new friends who came to the hostel for the 1st time and one of them was staying in the hostel from his class 1. So, he had more experience than us. Fortunately, we made friends with the 2nd year students.

It was the morning of 8th April 2010, we came out for a Puja at the temple inside the campus and after the Puja, we had attended the class which was a formal introduction class. The principal had given the formal introduction of teachers, but I just remembered only one youngest teacher's face, who was a former faculty member from KBRC, Bhubaneswar. Actually, I couldn't remember his name, but I remembered him as Nayak sir and till now, I'm calling him as Nayak sir.

After that introduction round, we had our morning breakfast and attended 3 classes on that day. We were there for 2 months and everyone counting the days to go home from the beginning. On the 1st day, I was introduced to some other new friends and it was a great experience of my life. In those days, I didn't have much of interest in writings, so I had never noted those things in any diary of somewhere else. But on this day, I wished to write some of these experiences in a diary.

So, this was the 1st experience in my +2 college, where I read for the next two years. But these days, taught me some new experiences as well as some good things in my life. I would love to share those in my future blogs.
