TTT 2018- Memory, Experience, Knowledge
TTT referred to Train The Trainer, a training program conducting by the Center for Internet & Society- Access to Knowledge (CIS-A2K). In this training program, the experienced members of CIS-A2K are going to train with some work to the volunteers of Wikipedia.

I'm also working for Odia Wikipedia, Odia Wikisource since 2014, but never applied for this training program. Due to some miscommunication, I hadn't applied, but this time I applied and got the chance to attend the program. On 3rd December 2017, Odia Wikisource was celebrating its 3rd anniversary and after that, I applied for the TTT 2018. Within some days, Tito da, the member of CIS-A2K contacted me through Facebook and then send me the confirmation mail.

Finally, the day came and another member of CIS-A2K Gopala Krishna had contacted me to book the tickets. I'm staying in Bangalore, so it's easy for me to reach Mysore, the place where the training program had organized. On the 25th of January, we have to reach the Place.

But, on that day, there was a strike in Karnataka, but fortunately, I got a small vehicle to reach KSR Bengaluru. Due to strike, there was a few traffic and I reached KSR within 45 minutes from Marathahalli. The train hadn't arrived until that time, so I wait there and met 4 other Wikipedians from Marathi wiki and Telugu wiki. Then I met another Wikipedian from the English wiki on the train.

Around 2.00 we reached the Mysore railway station and took a taxi to reach the hotel. Finally, I reached the hotel and met Tanveer and Tito da after 1.5 years and again reintroduced myself to them. And then some members had come, but I haven't known them except Sailesh Patnaik, my friend from Odia Wiki, Dr. Manavpreet Kaur and Satdeep Gill from Panjabi wiki.

At 6.30, we had a formal introduction round and at that time, we got to know each other. Till that time, two of my friends Aliva Sahoo and Prateek Patnaik had reached there and we did some fun also. That introduction round was to know each other and gain some basic ideas about each other. And the work for Day0 finally finished and we have to start the main work for Day1 on next day.

Day1: (26th January 2018)

It's 26th of January and when I reached the lobby, one friend from Panjabi wiki Gurlal Mann asked me to join the flag hosting program organized by the hotel. After that, we all met at the meeting hall and the main work for the TTT started. There was another short introduction round by us all and after that, we were divided into five groups. I got the group 4. In my group, we were Dr. Manavpreet Kaur, Agastya, Guntupalli Rameswaram Sir, Sumit Surai, Tulsi Bhagat and Gopala Krishna.

The first task we got is "Meet-Up". So, we have to define the meetups and the processes, etc. So, we discussed with each other and then draw two different types of Meet up plans for a Project named "Wiki Hates Pollution" suggested by Guntupalli Rameswaram Sir. Sumit da and Agastya had presented that. This work taught me the processes for any plan, which might associate with wiki or not. Before some kind of work, we have to analyze everything as a plan and category them as Prework, Event and Post work.

On this day, the organizers had planned for the sweet table. On that table, the sweets from different states placed and we tested all those as per our choice. There are sweets from Odisha, Bengal, Panjab, Bangladesh, etc. This is the chance to get closer to the popular sweet dishes of any state.

After the lunch break, another friend Rohini had joined and she gives a presentation on the project grants, but I don't have any idea how to apply for a grant. So all the things shared by her jumps over me. Then another friend Kiran had joined there and described some tips for photography we need to follow at the zoo. Satdeep Gill, representative of Wikimedia Foundation India also presents some works of Wikipedia and shown us some amazing videos.

After that, we finished all our sessions and the main work for Day1 closed. And I finished my 100wikidays work for Wikipedia and Wikisource. I wished to go to the Mysore palace but missed the chance to join with Bengal team.

After dinner, we got our favorite Wikipedia T-Shirts from Royson. In that hall, we had planned to play some fun games. So I joined them and play a game named "Mafia". I don't have any idea about that game, but I learned at that time and yes, it's really a fun game. Then we have to leave that room and we again gathered in another room and play the Dumb Charades. I just saw this game on TVs, but never played and for the 1st time, I played that game. And finally, we left around 2.30 am.

Day2: (27th January 2018)

Day 2 was assigned to the field trip where we have to visit the Mysore zoo for the education program. We had planned to go by walk, but at the last moment, went through cabs. We took the 1st group photo at the entrance of the zoo. And in the zoo, a guide named Sneha joined us. That zoo has the unique rule for the plastic bottles to give 10 rupees and take a barcode so that people won't through the plastic bottles inside and at the time of returning they could refund their money from the exit counter by scanning that barcode.

Inside the zoo, Sneha had explained many things about birds, animals, etc. We took almost 4 hours inside the zoo and the director of the zoo gave a presentation about the zoo and their works. But we returned without visiting the reptile section and missed the chance to see the Anaconda. But the time we spent at the zoo was amazing. Before returning from the zoo, we took a group photo with the director and with Sneha.

At the time of returning from the zoo, we took the cab again to reach the hotel and after lunch, again we played the Truth and Dare game, where some did many fun things. At 4.30, we had another session about Diversity presented by Dr. Manavpreet Kaur which was another important section for us. During that, we prepared another small sheet describing the strength we have. This was presented by Agastya and Tulsi Bhagat.

After finishing all the works for Day 2, we celebrated the 14th Wiki Anniversary for Bengal Wikipedia with Subhendu, Pinaki da, Sumit da, and Afifa. Royson, who actually knows as cake Ninja of CIS-A2K cut the cake as per the required amount. After that, we finished our dinner and I went to finish the work for that day in 100wikidays. I was on the 99th day of my 3rd round challenge and didn't have an internet connection. So I borrowed the internet from Gopala Krishna and finished the work.

After that, I joined with Tito da, Sailesh, Krisha Chaitanya, Gopala Krishna, Satdeep, Manav mam, Rupika, Sushma, Puja, Nirajan and played the truth and truth game and made some fun and shared some of our things with others and finally closed all at 3.00am.

Day3: (28th January 2018)

Day 3 was the day for goodbye. But we had to finish some of our work, but before starting our session, I finished my 100th day of the 3rd round of 100wikidays challenge. During the session, we did our last part of Group Activity and prepared another sheet showing our survey. I and Tulsi had presented that. After that, all of us divided with some other group and learned many things about Commons Wikimedia, Support and Security, Wikisource work and Education program. From these four groups, I learned many things about Commons Wikimedia and some good photography tips from Sumit da and Gopal Krishna. Till now I didn't have such knowledge of photography. And learned some measure things from Dr. Manavpreet and Afifa about Support and Security from Wikimedia foundation and yes, it's really important to learn.

Krishna Chaitanya and Tito da also presented some tips and work about IRC, Wikipedia projects with us. So, it would help us to involve with wiki works.

After all these sessions, we finished our lunch and it's time to say goodbye to some people and recorded a feedback video for the TTT. I also gave a feedback video in Odia. After that, we took some photos with some friends and then some left.

In the evening, some of us went to the Mysore Palace, but till we reached there the palace area had been closed, but we saw the lightening view of the palace. After that, we returned to the hotel and had some informal conversations. After dinner, the CIS-A2K team gave me a gift for completing the 100wikidays 3rd time.

Now, it's time to return home. Finally, I returned to Bangalore by a bus with Tito da, Tanveer Bhaiya, Gopala, Pavan Bhaiya and Ananth. At the time of returning, I visited the CIS-A2K office in Domblur and then reached my room by cab around 7.00am.

Things I learned from the TTT:

  • Learned about the IRC using Wikipedia.
  • Support and Security Knowledge.
  • More projects involved in Wikipedia.
  • Plans for the meet-up and the survey.

Stop Stereotyping People

Stop Stereotyping People

Hello everyone!

Wish you all a very Happy New Year. Yes, it's a little bit late. As I've shared some info of work, that I was working for an Odia e-magazine named "Nabapallaba" which was released in this new year. After that, we have planned for the audio magazine. So, we start recording the articles and some also helped as volunteers. That's why, to write the 1st blog in 2018, I took 16 days. Anyway, thanks to you all for your love and support and these things definitely improve my writing style and my literature skills.

Today, when I was scrolling my Facebook Timeline, a video was featured there. That video was shared by BuddyBits. A girl named Megha Jajoo was telling some real-life stories about "MARD KO BHI DARD HOTA HAI". Yes, that video was amazing, and quickly I saved that video to my Saved List on Facebook. Yes, I need to share that video with you, because that video has some facts which we should learn in our life and should understand for a better future.

She explained the story of a10 years little boy named Rohan who lost his first ever Football match. That guy lost the match, so he was upset. He used to cry for that reason, but his mother advised him that "LADKE NEHI ROTE". Yes, that's a little thing did by his mother to arrange some power within him at that time, but that wrong statement creates a big issue for that guy when he grew up. He couldn't explain the internal pain and problem to others.

She also shared an experience of her when she was in Kolkatta. A guy standing behind a girl in the bus accidentally touched the girl when the driver pulled the break. So, the girl slapped the guy with anger and yes, the people who were there on the bus also think that the boy did that intentionally. But, in that case, that accident happened due to the inertia of motion, but the boy becomes the victim.

Abhish, a guy who scored a good percentage in his school but couldn't get a seat in his dream engineering college due to the more seats for the girls to promote more girls for the engineering. So, some girls with lesser mark had joined the college, but he couldn't. Yes, that rule to promote the education for girls is right, but did anybody realise the mind of that boy at that moment?

Sourav, who always topped his class and had the degree which he wanted, but couldn't get the dream job in his life. His wish was to become an international financial analyst, but he had to manage his family. He is the eldest child of his family, so he had to look after his family business. That's why he left his dream. Yes, he did for his family and this is the story of every eldest child in a family.

She also shared another story of her teacher, who recently got married. After marriage, he became the sandwich between two superpowers of his life, one is his mother and another is his wife. He has to manage his life according to the lifestyle of those two women. Every time, people say, that the women have the superpower to manage everything, but the man struggles from those superpowers. The guy is moving like a pendulum between his mother and wife to keep both happy, but he couldn't be happy himself.

There is a famous line, that "MARD KO DARD NEHI HOTA HAI", but do you ever feel that Dard or the Pain is a part of our life. If we get hurt physically or mentally, we suffered from pain. If this line was true, then no man won't died from accidents or from heart attacks. Even some man can't express the real pain which they get from their wives, because the law for women may punish them with some fake cases.

Seven black and white pictures of your daily life- Seventh Day
Seven days .... Seven black and white pictures of your daily life .... No faces, No explanations .... Challenge & Tag a friend every day ....

After accepting the challenge from Aliva Sahoo, in the very first day, I shared the photo of Rubik's Cube and on the 2nd day, I have shared another Rubik's Cube wounded with a Dairy milk chocolate cover. On the 3rd day, I have shared a photo of a toy coconut tree. On the 4th day, I have shared the photo of oranges which I love to eat. On this 5th day, I have shared a photo of the remaining parts of a pencil. On the 6th day, I've shared a photo of an old radio. And on this last or 7th day, I've shared a beautiful picture. This picture relates to our culture and tradition.

This is a photo of Sudasa Brata. Sudasa Brata is one festival for Maa Laxmi which celebrated in Odisha. This thread contains 10 layers and the whole thread knot with 10 nuts as per the 10 names of Maa Laxmi. And the married women who worship Maa Laxmi on this day ties it into their right arm and this changed on the next Sudasa Brata. There is a certain rule for this festival. This festival is observed on Thursday. The Thursday, which comes on Sukala Paksha Dasami Tithi (waxing phase of moon) is celebrated as Sudasa Brata.

And with this photo, I've completed the challenge, but I would definitely continue to share these type of photos, but not in a regular basis.

Seven black and white pictures of your daily life- Sixth Day
Seven days ....

And on this 6th day, I've shared a photo of an old radio.

This radio was bought in 2004. My father had a radio, I had seen that from my childhood. But I had a problem with that radio. Actually, at that time, I used to think that, there were small persons living inside the radio. So, once I opened all the screws with the help of a screw-driver like Rachhod Das Chanchchhad. But, managed to re-arrange them all. After that, I used to unscrew them every time and finally one day had come, when that radio got totally damaged by me and my father break that.

It's the time of 2004 when he bought his first motorbike and coincidentally, there was a marriage at our place. The sister of our neighbours was going to marry. At that time, he bought this radio. That moment was the happiest moment for me. But I hadn't opened that at that time since it was new. There was no electricity in our village and we didn't have the TV too. So, this radio is for everything form entertainment to news and cricket score.

And finally, the devil arrived, electricity. And again the courage reappeared inside me to play in electric current. Till that, I had read about the electricity and some uses of electronic devices. So, I bought a delimiter which would supply appropriate current to the radio. To make this happen, I started rearranging the wiring system and the final result made it damage. Again I repaired it from a mechanic in our village. But after that, I show many troubles and this time I break it down.

This was my story of about my radio. Yes, now I'm listening from the All India Radio app. And yes, at that time, I used to love every program and now those things hadn't changed.

And on this fifth day, I have captured the dusts comeout from a pencile cutter.

This photo shows that, we could reuse our garbage and could make some beautifu designs from these waste materials with a little effort.

Today, I was cutting a new pencile for my sister and these particles come out from that. When I took it to throgh away, I got an idea to click a photo and the final result is just awesome. You could feel it.

Seven black and white pictures of your daily life: Day- 3
Seven days ....

On this 3rd day, I have clicked a photo of a coconut tree which was not real and made up to decorate the house by placing it on the table or at the self-showcase. Today, I challenged to Aditi Ruhela, a Panjabi Wikipedian friend.

These are made up of from different things and get a new shape by the creator. All the materials used to make this are nothing when they are not combined with all. But, when they join together forms a beautiful thing which decorates the house. We are like those raw materials of this toy-tree. We are nothing when we are alone and we are everything in a group. But, the raw materials didn't forget their features and job when there are useless too.

Seven black and white pictures of your daily life: Day- 2

Seven black and white pictures of your daily life: Day- 2
Seven days .... Seven black and white pictures of your daily life .... No faces, No explanations .... Challenge & Tag a friend every day ....
After accepting the challenge from Aliva Sahoo, in the very first day, I shared the photo of Rubik's Cube on this second day, I have clicked a 3*3 Rubik's  Cube wounded with the cover of Dairy Milk chocolate cover and placed over a novel, "Till the last Breath" by Durjoy Datta. Today, I challenged to Nihar Mohanty, an Odia Wikipedian from Bhubaneswar.

This photo also shows some interesting story from my side;
  • Rubik's cube is not shown here properly, but it is doing its job and it would do it in future also. Yes, you could do your job whether you are at the front or at the back.
  • The Rubik's cube was wounded with a chocolate cover. I had eaten the chocolate, but didn't through the wrap cover anywhere, because it might create some problem to the environment. That's why I used that as a designer cover or etc. Yes, we could reuse the waste materials.
  • The wrap cover was protecting the chocolate and now the chocolate is no more. But, the wrap cover is doing the same protecting job for another product. Yes, we have to do our job, no matter where we are.
  • Reading book is really necessary because it gives more and more knowledge and definitely changes your mindset with the limited things you are associated with.
I put this book because this book shows the love for our life till the last breath. And yes, after the last breath of a pretty girl, she also saved the life another boy by her heart. Her heart started beating his breath.

Seven black and white pictures of your daily life: Day- 1

Seven black and white pictures of your daily life: Day- 1
Seven days .... Seven black and white pictures of your daily life .... No faces, No explanations .... Challenge & Tag a friend every day ....

I don't have any idea, who have started this challenge. But, it's really an amazing and interesting game I think. I was challenged by Aliva Sahoo, one friend from Odia Wiki Puri Tungi. So, I have to accept that challenge. And it was up to me to accept it or ignore it, but I choose to have some fun.

Actually, this challenge includes seven black and white photos of our daily life to be posted on any social media. All are doing this on Facebook, so I also choose that and also like to share on Twitter too.

So, it is the day- 1. In this day 1, I had clicked a photo of my favourite 4*4 Rubik's Cube putting on my Laptop. Both, Laptop and Rubik's cube are my favourite, so on this first day, I wish to click this first. And there is the rule not to explain about the photo, but I can explain here. So, no problem. Also, there is another optional rule to challenge some of your friends. So on the very first day, I challenged Abha Pradha, another friend cum sister from the same Odia Wiki Puri Tungi and she also accept that challenge by posting her click of the day.

The Rubik's cube in the photo gives a great message for the society. It's very difficult to them, who think it's difficult and also it's difficult to them, who thinks it's easy but even don't try to solve it. But in reality, the solving procedure is not so hard. Anybody could solve it if he/she wish to solve it with proper desire and steps.

9 Years to 26/11 Mumbai Attack

Sangram Keshari Senapati November 26, 2017 0
9 Years to 26/11 Mumbai Attack

In 2008 November, there was an India tour by England cricket team. On that day, the match was at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. Continuously India won 5 matches and there were two more matches. During the night, we heard a sad news about Mumbai Attack. A number of people killed by the terrorists and one terrorist caught alive.

After that, the England team returned to their own land safely. Every people of India may feel sad about the attack. And yes, the other countries may feel sad about this attack. Pakistan who separated from India and our motherland treat that country as her child. That child who only destroys his mother. Every-time the terrorists attacked India are from Pakistan. That country wished to become the father of terrorism and became a haven for the terrorists.

If you keep the fire on your laps, it must burn your lap too. Yes, you could through some fire to the others, but that fire won't spare you. The same thing happening to Pakistan also. Those terrorists, whom that country give all facilities sometimes also attacking them. The terrorist organizations who are saying that they want peace-creating only violation and killing people is not a way to bring peace. Yes, by killing people you may bring peace, but there would no-one to live on earth.

In that attack, a number of families lost their love and some also lost their full family. People had gone for the holiday trip and they didn't have the idea that, the trip of enjoyment might become their last trip. The time passed away and on this day we remember those people who killed in that incident. They lost their valuable lives for the sake of some stupid and insecure terrorists.

I don't have much idea about these incidents, but the terrorists should gain some knowledge about humanity and the real ambition of human. They are killing in the name of religion and the religion is killed by them.

This painting is drawn by Saswat Debadatta.
