Memory of My Life- 4: The photo captured by me Feature as Photo of the Week on Odia Wikipedia
In life, small things could give you many reasons for happiness. It was 12th April in 2016, when I got a ping from Sailesh Patnaik that a photo which I had captured was featuring as Photo of Week on Odia Wikipedia. So, I had checked the home page immediately and look at the picture, what I found.

The featured photo was about a person who was playing a musical instrument known as "Kendara" in Odisha. Some years before, a bunch of people came to Odisha and started living in a specific region. Since they were outsiders, they used to beg by playing this instrument and singing a special song which is known as "Gobinda Chandra Tika".

There is a story behind this "Gobinda Chandra Tika" since centuries. There was a prince named Gobinda Chandra, whose mother got to know that her son won't live longer. So, she decided to give him to the God so the God would take care of him. That's why she gave him a "Kendara" and taught him some song to sing and sent him to the Saint Hadippa.

Memory of My Life- 3: Farewell by our Juniors at GCEK

Memory of My Life- 3: Farewell by our Juniors at GCEK
It is going to complete 2 years since we left the college. Before we left, our juniors threw a farewell party to us on this day in 2016. It was 10 April 2016, and we had our last enjoyment with juniors. The previous year, we arranged the farewell party a long time before for the final exam, so they also arranged the farewell party 1 and a half months before. Before that, our seniors had arranged the farewell party after the exam, but a problem arose there. So, we had planned the farewell party much before the exam and our juniors also do the same.

During our time, we couldn't get the chance to plan the farewell meeting in college, so we conducted outside and our junior also faced the same problem. So, they had arranged the party at Amala Bhavan near to Government bus stand. On the farewell day, most of the students would be shown upset, but we had another 1.5 months there, so none of us felt that. So, we enjoyed that day.

In the evening, we went there are they welcome us with diya and offered us a rose. At the time when I reached, there were a few of our friends and no girls were there until that time. Yes, they need more time for their makeover. So, it's a common thing.

Yhea! that's me. Don't know who had clicked this photo. But my eyes were looking horrible. That rose was in my pocket and it's with me till now. I've fixed it in my diary on the day of 10 April 2016.

After that, we wait for our other friends. Look at that little girl, she came with one of our juniors. In that leisure time, she performed on a Bollywood track, "Khinch Meri Photo" and I just clicked a photo. Finally, the girls had come and two of our teachers, Kamakshya Sir and Ashok sir had come.

They both lighten the diya and gave a formal speech for us. After that, Prateek and Saswati, our class representatives had their small speech. And all were excited about the cake cutting.

After the cake cutting and having some snacks, both of our teachers left that place. But I missed other teachers and Rajendra sir the most. We took some snaps with teachers.

When the teachers left, they had planned for some fun games. And all of us enjoyed those. Some students confess about their crush and secret love stories with us. And some got the change to propose them if they were present there. Even a number of boys had proposed a single girl.

But, we were happy with our photo shoot. We had clicked a number of photos with our friends and juniors. At the time of dinner, I had clicked lots of photos. Even I remembered a click, where some of our girls stood with a model pose, but I couldn't click them and was busy with some other clicks. But made them to hold that pose for few minutes and finally clicked them. Here is that photo.

And did lots of fun with all of them from juniors to seniors. And there was a funny moment with me when I had taken a photo with our lateral entry girls. For the extra height, I made to sit on my feet and Pankajini had put a rose on my head.

Finally, they called me to the stage for a formal speech for our friends and junior. I was there with two of my friends, Swapna and Swagatika. Usually, I used to talk in Odia, but on the stage, some English words came out from me. But all of them demanded the Odia speech. So, I tried my best to speak in pure Odia. It's difficult to speak in pure Odia since some of our words are mixed with other languages.

Before leaving that hall, we had clicked the group photo. Some of our friends had left to their room, but we didn't have any barriers. On that day, we did many crazy things and as usual, I couldn't dance on the floor. But I enjoyed their dance and clicked lots of photos. The farewell day is the most memorable day in the life. It's like an unofficial transfer certificate.

Memory of My Life- 2: 8 Years Back, went to VCSC for Demo Classes

Memory of My Life- 2: 8 Years Back, went to VCSC for Demo Classes

8 years back on this day, I had started reading in a college. Actually, that is known as School outside Odisha, but in Odisha, we are considering it as college after 10th. So, after my 10th exam, my parents and some of my teachers planned to send me a residential college, Vinayak College of Science and Commerce to for the demo classes. After the 10th exam, at those days, we got at least 3 months, so within those 3 months, some residential colleges planned for the demo classes, so the students could get in touch with studies as well as know some about their next studies.

So, I went to the hostel on 7th April 2010 and from 8th April 2010, we had our classes. Previously, I hadn't stayed outside my home except our relative's house, but that time, I had to leave the home and stay with new friends. So, I was excited at that time and in those days, I was totally different from nowadays. So, when they asked me for the classes, I just asked them, "are they going to teach me about computers?" Because, until that day, I didn't have a single knowledge about computer and perhaps didn't see a computer from very close. So, I had planned before finishing the exam, to join a computer academy and must learn some about the computer. When my father said me that, they are going to teach us some basics of computers, I was in the 9th cloud and immediately put a yes for that.

So, everything had prepared as per the plan and that was my 1st time outside the home. That's why everyone had advised me about the hostel, college, class, etc. So, on the 7th April, me with my father and with a teacher arrived there to the college. When I reached there, it was the evening snacks time and after snacks, we had an evening prayer. After that, I went to my room. It was a 7 sharing room, where I got another 5 new friends who came to the hostel for the 1st time and one of them was staying in the hostel from his class 1. So, he had more experience than us. Fortunately, we made friends with the 2nd year students.

It was the morning of 8th April 2010, we came out for a Puja at the temple inside the campus and after the Puja, we had attended the class which was a formal introduction class. The principal had given the formal introduction of teachers, but I just remembered only one youngest teacher's face, who was a former faculty member from KBRC, Bhubaneswar. Actually, I couldn't remember his name, but I remembered him as Nayak sir and till now, I'm calling him as Nayak sir.

After that introduction round, we had our morning breakfast and attended 3 classes on that day. We were there for 2 months and everyone counting the days to go home from the beginning. On the 1st day, I was introduced to some other new friends and it was a great experience of my life. In those days, I didn't have much of interest in writings, so I had never noted those things in any diary of somewhere else. But on this day, I wished to write some of these experiences in a diary.

So, this was the 1st experience in my +2 college, where I read for the next two years. But these days, taught me some new experiences as well as some good things in my life. I would love to share those in my future blogs.

Memory of My Life- 1: 2 Years Back Celebrated Anmol's B'day in College for the last time

Memory of My Life- 1: 2 Years Back Celebrated Anmol's B'day in College for the last time
Hello everyone!

Actually, from today onwards, I would share some of my memories in a form of a blog. Previously, I used to write some stories about the Daily Life Style Photo Challenge, Favorite book Cover Photo challenge. And those felt me good when I've shared those, but after those seven days, I couldn't write any other blogs. So, I've decided to write something every day, if possible about some of my memories from past years. So, I'm taking the help of Google Photos and Facebook to get those memories back, since they are showing the memories on my Time Line as per the exact date.

2 years back on this day, we had celebrated Anmol's birthday at GCEK for the last time. Yes, that was the 1st time actually. Because previously I hadn't attended any of her birthdays. But for the last time, I was there and captured lots of photos. Actually, there were not many friends, but we were a few to celebrate it. Since we were celebrating in the classroom, so we had to keep the surroundings little quite. So, fewer friends made this happen.

She cut the cake, but unfortunately, on that day, I forgot my camera in the room, so couldn't capture that. But after that, I took some snaps on Malay's phone. And all those were there to celebrate present in this photo except me since I was taking the photos. But, after this photo, Gagan had clicked my photo too.

10,000 Edits on Odia Wikipedia

10,000 Edits on Odia Wikipedia
On 28 July 2014, I joined Wikipedia and created an article in English which deleted within 30 to 40 minutes. Then I created another article on 20th August which was my 1st English Wikipedia Article.

Then on 10 October 2014, I've created the 1st Odia Wikipedia article on Odia Wiki, but that also deleted due to lack of reference. So, on 15 December 2014, I had translated my 1st English Wikipedia article to Odia and that is my 1st Odia Wikipedia article.

Last year on 25th May 2017, I had reached the 1,000 edits on both Odia Wikipedia and Odia Wikisource on a single day. But these #100Wikidays work, #AsiaMonthEdiatho, #WomensMonthEditathon helped me to reach the 10,000 edits milestone in these 11 Months.

I would give a special thanks to Subhashish Panigrahi and Mrutyunjaya Kar for teaching me to create good articles on Wikipedia. And Sailesh Patnaik for inspiring me to write for #100wikidays challenge.

As I know him from the movie "3 Idiots" and then his stories "Half Girl Friend" and "2 States" were the biggest hits and then tuned into Bollywood movies. This is the first book of Chetan Bhagat which I read. The story is really amazing, but in some cases, I don't like that portion. At the end, I got an amazing knowledge like from the book, "This Love that Feels Right" by Ravinder Singh.

Seven Favorite Book Covers in 7 Days- Day 3

Sangram Keshari Senapati March 28, 2018 0
Seven Favorite Book Covers in 7 Days- Day 3
I accept the challenge form the teacher, story writer, storyteller Sulagna Mohanty mam to post 7 cover photos of my favorite books. So previously I've posted the photo of "Nalichuda" and "When Only Love Remains" on Day 1 and 2 accordingly.

So, on this day 3, I've shared another love story which is written by Ravinder Singh. When I started reading this book, I don't have any idea that the author of this book was staying in Odisha. At the beginning of my reading, even I don't like the title of the book, but continued to reading, since I had paid for it. But, Gradually the story went inside my heart. This is actually not a complete love story, this is a lesson for the society, for those who are suffering from marital problems.

So, that is "This Love that feels Right". This was my 1st book of Ravinder Singh and after reading this, a number of bad things inside also changed. Yes, like SeeKen, I would definitely suggest to read this kind of books, because this is really necessary to our society. If you read the book, then half of the problem could be solved easily.
